at the moment.

First, yes.  We are open.

Pheasant Acres is a year round private RV park. Currently we have a great entourage of interesting campers here.  Workers, traveling nurses, folks waiting for their new homes to be built and others that love their RV homes.  We have campers coming to trout fish at the nearby trout park.  The best part is we can all easily practice social distancing since you are on your own site using your own facilities. You can enjoy a walk in the 2500 acres of woods or sit by a campfire.

I am monitoring the COVID-19 coronavirus situation. We are all actively working to take precautions.  We doing our best  to monitor the WHO and CDC and local health agencies.  My State (MOARC) and National RV (ARVC) associations as well as a great FaceBook group, Owners/Managers of RV Parks, are continually updating information regarding the situation.

The well-being of you -  our guests - is our top priority. I want to thank you for putting your trust in me here at PARV.

My hope is that all will weather this non-typical event and that in a timely manner all will return back to normal.  Part of that depends on how we honor the pertinent information about dealing daily with the threat of COVID-19.

The campgound water for the lower sites was turned on March 25th. However the showers and rest rooms will not be open.  That means everyone will need to continue using their own RV facilities - kitchens, showers, restrooms as they can be hooked up to water at their site. Everyone should continue to self-isolate and practice their distancing from others. And don't be afraid to wipe everything down. To date you have been successful.  The goal is to stay healthy until this subsides.

There is a wonderful group of people here at PARV now. Sitting around a campfire (while distancing yourselves) is a great ice breaker and tension reliever.  Mother Nature has provided us with a beautiful setting amongst these Oak woods that are waiting for you to take a walk-a-bout.

As for me, I'm definitely keeping up on sanitizing things in the offce. I am happy to answer questions or help you with any information you might need.  And an update as we enter spring stormy weather. . . My basement is available to  you as the place should to take cover should we have tornado alerts.  Many times we just gather on the back porch in readiness which is just a few steps/stairs to the basement.  FYI: The basement was added in 2002 and is built of 13 inch styrofoam blocks with rebar in the center filled with concrete. built to withstand tornadic winds, so I've been told by previous owner.  Thankfully, we've never had to test it out.

And that brings to mind, be sure and have your RV insurance paid and up to date, as you are well aware, branches and or trees do get blown down during bad storms.

Lastly please be sure and put all trash into Kitchen Bags tied shut before putting anything in the dumpster.  PLEASE...no furniture  items, bedding (pillows, sheets, blankets, etc.) should be put into dumpster.  If you have items like that you will need to keep them contained in your RV until COVID-19 alert is over.  Thank you for helping.

Because of the ever-changing impact of COVID-19 on how we operate, congregate and travel, we have adapted our cancellation guidelines to offer more flexibility to our campers.

If your plans change over these upcoming weeks, we will gladly work with you to rebook your stay for a later time. If you do choose to cancel, you may do so up to 24 hours ahead of the scheduled check-in date, and receive a full refund without a cancellation fee or the loss of your deposit. This applies to stays between March 1, 2020 and April 30, 2020. Campers who cancel within the 24 hour time window of arrival will forfeit their deposit. PARV is a business, a small mom-owned private business, thus necessitating the change or cancellation policy.

We all need a breath of fresh air. And PARV has plenty of that.  The rain will cease.  The sun will come out.  The wild flowers will bloom.  The bird houses will be full of babies.  The trout park is still open for fishing. If  you can't camp, relax a little and dream about camping and plan a trip later this season.  Come and enjoy some unfussy campoing at Pheasant Acres RV Park in Saint James, Missouri . . . in the beautiful Foothills of the Ozarks.

What is Unfussy camping?

It's about releasing your inner self
to enjoy Mother Nature's breathtaking beauty
and making the time to thoroughly relax.

It's about sitting around a campfire, listening to the tweets of the birds in the trees, watching sunsetsover the horizon, walking in the woods, splashing in the nearby streams, checking out the wild flowers, meeting new friends - and clearing the cobwebs out of your soul.

Sprinkle in some great trout fishing at nearby Maramec Spring Park, one of the five trout parks in the state of Missouri - or gas up and cruise along the Mother Road, Route 66 - or sip some local vino or brews at several nearby wineries and craft breweries - and ending your day dining at superb local restaurants - or practicing your outdoor cooking skills over an open campfire.

And if you haven't ever done 'ole school style' river swimming you can head down to the nearby Meramec River Access - be sure and take your cooler, lawn chairs, floats  and sunscreen - and don't forget your fishing poles. You have to admit this sounds like the perfect setting to enjoy unfussy relaxation at the water's edge by soaking up some good ole' Ozark sunshine.

Well - are you are game to remember how camping can be a great out-of-doors experience? Then you're ready for 'unfussy' camping at Phesasnt Acres RV Park.  Spend a night, a weekend or longer. You won't find another RV park and campground surrounded by such lush forest shade and green grassy area.  I am sure you're going to love discovering  what our quiet family and pet friendly RV park is like. Hopefully you will want to come back again and make us your homebase for exploring the Foothills of the Ozarks. We love our 'PARV Friends.

Camping in the Foothills of the Ozarks is the perfect time to stow away all those electronics and let your tour guide be Mother Nature.

Our physical location in a area of low population density means WiFi, Cell phone and satellite connections are not top notch.  Dang it, nothing we can do about that.

Our apologies in advance.  Believe me - we anxiously await the day that Mid-Missouri technology catches up with the big urban areas. Camping and the wide open out-of-doors can be your opportunity to DETOX from TECHNOLOGY and enjoy the beauty that Momma Nature has to offer - right?
